What is this?

Simply put, rtfm.lol is my blog about the wierd impact the Internet has had on our lives and why we should probably be more careful with it.

I believe we are not so much at a dangerous precipice, but actively falling off the cliff when it comes to our interconnectedness outpacing our understanding of its consequences. I also believe it can still be corrected, at least to a degree where we, the users, start taking some of the power back.

Who are you?

I'm an ageing computer enthusiast who has been learning from his mistakes since AOL minutes came on 3.5" disks and enjoys helping others be a little bit safer in our interconnected world. Given that I came of age with the early version of the world wide web, I have a strong sense of nostalgia for it, but more than that, I am disappointed with the bloated, intrusive monster the Internet has become. Oddly enough, I could also be described as a bloated, intrusive monster. Huh.
